What was that one bar she was bouncing around at before... Nanny Nights?
[That sounds right.]
I'll put her there, it'll distract her. Keep her off our backs. [At best it's a short-term solution, though, and they both know it. Demencia, for all her wild antics, is not an idiot. On his next loop, Black Hat continues forward to loom ever so slightly over Flug.]
Buy a bit of time to figure out a more long-term solution.
"Nai'a Nights? That's where Jiro performs, I believe." [Early into their alliance it had been dropped as a place of contact but Flug had never yet visited. Demencia did mention a bouncer gig shortly before she vanished, if the manticore will be there too, perhaps it was time to put it more firmly on his radar.
Flug glances up, unhappily, at the ominous shadow of his boss towering over him.]
"I don't want her gone." [Not that he expects he needs to clarify that but for villains most long term solutions are implied to be a deadly sort.]
"Just. She left." [Maybe it wasn't her fault, maybe she would never have chose to but she still did and if she hadn't, the poachers might not have ever been able to-- Black Hat understood, didn't he?]
"She shouldn't get to just waltz back in like nothing has changed."
That's the place. [Perhaps one day they should pay it a visit, get to know the lay of the land. Having Demencia stationed there would be as good a reason as any.
Black Hat leans back against the wall next to Flug, pinching the gap between his eyes. No, he doesn't want her gone either, not really - she's far too useful as a tool to point at whatever ires him. And, a little deeper than that, another connection to the past. And the future, now too. She's seen it - business as usual, from the sounds of it. As if Ryslig had never happened.
It's a small comfort; it does not erase that she left.]
No, she doesn't. But for now she's better off thinking nothing has changed. [Just like the home they were all stolen from.] We're better off with her thinking that.
[Flug nods, swallowing back his frustration. Black Hat is right, Flug knows he is right. For just a moment he sways, tempted to lean in close to his boss, who is already so near but the doctor restrains himself.]
"And there is still an us." [Black Hat already confirmed as much, but Flug finds right now he needs to say it out loud for himself. There will be cutbacks; a lot of what Demencia considered normal didn't involve a lot of pleasantries for the doctor but it won't affect everything. Right now they just needed a good night's rest to clear their heads.]
"Oh." [Flug looks to their hide when he remembers. Right. The first of several things he's about to lose out on.]
"I.. guess I'll be crashing back in the lab." [They can't very well keep piling in the lounge to sleep beside eachother now, can they?]
